Teleste Educational, Ltd. and Compaq's GEM Division Sign Major Marketing Cooperative Agreement
in Latin America and the Caribbean Miami, Florida – October 30, 2000 -- Teleste Educational, Ltd. (HEX: TELIV), the renowned leader in the global educational market as a developer and supplier of technology enhanced solutions for learning environments, has signed a major marketing partnership agreement with Compaq Computer Corporation's (NYSE: CPQ) GEM (Government, Educational, and Medical) Latin America & Caribbean division to provide products and system solutions to educational sectors thru the region. The partnership will leverage the strengths of both organizations in establishing market presence with end-users in South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean countries, including the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. Compaq, through its GEM LAC division, will launch a web-based tool and bid management system. Teleste will develop, market, and license educational software solutions for this offering. Teleste's software programs will be offered along with Compaq's products on the GEM website that is currently being developed and will be introduced in January, 2001. This website is designed for GEM projects in which technical product specifications have not been yet determined and those projects in which such technical specification has been defined.
