DIVACE Media Assistant to Integrate with Publisher's Spanish Course Program

May 5, 2002 Divace Oy, the renowned leader in the global educational market as a developer and supplier of technology enhanced solutions for learning environments, today announced a key licensing agreement with Prentice Hall Higher Education, the world's leading publisher of college textbooks and related digital and online materials. Under the terms of the agreement, Prentice Hall will integrate DIVACE Media Assistant into a student video CD for its first year Spanish course program, ¡Arriba! Comunicación y cultura.

The inclusion of DIVACE, a digital multimedia recorder, boasts numerous language learning facilitating features that will allow Prentice Hall to offer an array of diversified activities designed around audio and video materials. For the students, DIVACE will enhance their listening skills, as well as their speech fluency, pronunciation, and intonation.

'Our partnership with Prentice Hall offers language students the superb capabilities of two widely respected companies: outstanding content and the latest in educational technology' said Raimo Körkkö, Senior Vice-President, Divace Oy, Turku, Finland. This first step in bundling our popular DIVACE Media Assistant with the ¡Arriba! video material will pave the way for similar ventures with other Prentice Hall language courseware for American college students.

'With Prentice Hall's content, Divace Oy can now better service its American population of language centers, as well as reach an extended market of individual language learners' added Erik Moseby, President of Tandberg Educational Inc, Divace Oy's partner in the US.The concept of the product will encourage students to work on video comprehension and viewing activities outside of lab hours in their own home/campus environment.

Phil Miller, Publisher of Prentice Hall's Modern Languages imprint, explained that 'many schools are actively looking for new ways to integrate video into their students' language learning experience. Through this partnership, we'll be able to provide them with high-quality video content in a convenient, interactive format designed specifically for students studying a foreign language.'
